Inspired by my all-time favorite ad from Apple – I encourage you to think outside the box.  Have the courage to go against the traditional marketing methods that simply do not work today.  Watch and enjoy it.

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels.

The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes.

The ones who see things differently.

They’re not fond of rules, and they have no respect for the status quo.

You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify and vilify them.

About the only thing you can’t do

is ignore them because they change things.

They push the human race forward.

And while some may see them as crazy,

we see genius.

Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world,

are the ones who do.”

This is one of my all-time favorite ads from Apple

It ends the ad with a simple message – Think Different.

This was part of a totally new marketing campaign

As they were on the brink of bankruptcy

This was the tip of the arrow for their resurgence

And eventual dominance.

They dared to think different

And why did this ad work?

It worked because it resonates strongly with all of us.

This idea of thinking different.

And while an ad like this resonates with us strongly

It is only the strong that have the courage to execute

To go against the tide – especially when the herd gets vocal

A large part of the senior living industry is stuck

Stuck in old thinking

Romanticizing the past with old, outdated marketing tactics and strategies

And, even though the evidence is clear – they are so hard to quit.

The herd is strong and they pull those with less conviction back

Into the status quo.

Will you be strong enough to go against the herd?

Will you have the courage to Think Different?

Will you abandon ineffective marketing?

Will you embrace change and evolve?

And in doing so find a completely new perspective

On what it means to become a Marketer.

And, what it means to drive your own leads

Leaving the world of a commodity
